Cerebellum



The cerebellum is located underneath the cerebrum, and right next to the brain stem, as you can see in the picture to the left. The cerebellum is the second largest part of the brain, and is known as "little brain." It controls posture, coordinates body movements, and balance. If you didn't have your cerebellum you wouldn't be able to stand up straight, move about, and you wouldn't be able to keep your balance.
